"Handog Lingap" Treats 800 Special Children to Manila Ocean Park
The Handog Lingap project is the flagship project of JCI Manila, Inc. It has been running every year since the early 1980’s where we bring close to 1,000 special children to a day of sports and learning activities. We have had the privilege of working with the sports centers, schools, a variety of TV personalities and local politicians who have all been kindhearted enough to donate their time to the project.
Last February 24, 2013, we treated these special children to a day of learning in Manila Ocean Park. Over 800 special children, mostly with down syndrome, from public schools across Manila, were given a special day where they learned about the wonders of the ocean up close and personal. They were able to interact with some of the animals that live in the world’s oceans and open their eyes to a world that they would normally only see in books. We also conducted arts and crafts activities as well as dance competitions.
The 2013 Handog Lingap was held at Manila Ocean Park, Luneta Park, Manila where the children got to experience the Oceanarium, Marine Life Show and Activities such as arts, dancing and more!
