Saving the Reefs...One coral at a time.

September 30 to October 3, 2011

JCI Manila in partnership with other JCI chapters, local government, NGOs, media and the private sector, will embark on an environmental awareness initiative regarding the rapid degradation of our marine natural resources through illegal means of fishing. SEA OF LIFE will plant artificial marine reefs in various locations throughout the Philippines to help rebuild our reefs and enhance the fishing livelihood of that local community.
Please support our initiative to help rebuild our Marine Reefs! Vast Marine ecosystems are beingwiped out at an alarming rate, ecosystems that took decades or centuries to build are gone in an instantdue to illegal means of fishing (dynamite, cyanide, poaching)! Lets do our part to help the environment!

WHAT are the GOALS of the project?- Raise Awareness about the importance of protecting and rehabilitating Coral Reefs and the preservation of sea life and their habitat- Perform logistics of the project and execute reef building/planting- Sustain the artificial coral reefs that will be built
We need you to help out! If you are interested to join in any of our committees, send me an email at pacia [dot] miko [at] gmail [dot] com

JCI Manila showed how dedicated our environmental advocacies are with eco project... Sea of Life, Save the Reef, where JCI Manila members and friends flew to Palawan for a weekend of fun and Environmental Awareness.

With our partners, we will procure and submerge multiple dome shaped contraptions to create artifical reefs where they have been destroyed and denuded. We aim to re-invigorate the aquatic habitat and ecosystem which has been dangerously destroyed by nochalance and disinterest.

Our thanks to Sheridan Beach resort for hosting the event.
